Full & Half Day Fishing

Florida may have 18 pound largemouth bass but who wants to be there during the sweltering days of August? The Kenai River in Alaska may have big salmon but they don’t have a single musky like the record fish that come out of the Chippewa Flowage. Greg’s Guide Services can help you find affordable fishing and outdoor adventure in the Hayward area of Northwestern Wisconsin.

The lakes we fish offer such a large variety of species that every tug on the lure gets your heart going. We like to fish walleyes and crappies with small jigs and light line but you never know if that little tap on your line is the 10 lb bottom hugging walleye you’ve been waiting for. It just might be a 5 lb smallmouth or even a 40” tiger musky. In the Chip we even have a few sturgeon and catfish to keep you guessing.

We could spend all summer fishing walleyes on the 10 lakes and 17,000 acres that comprise the Chippewa Flowage but we also like to fish bass and musky on the lakes of the Tiger Cat Flowage. The 5 lakes of the Tiger Cat have bigger largemouth and the muskies are much more numerous.

Our Lund Pro V is equipped to fish comfortably with 2 clients but with a little advance notice we can make adjustments in equipment and tactics to accommodate your larger family or other group. A full day of fishing is 8 hours and a half day is 4. We’ll adjust the time of day based on the season, weather, and your schedule. Bring your own equipment or we can provide it for you. We’ll even help you find lodging or dining in your price range.

If the live well is full (or the kids get bored) we can take a little time to show you the numerous eagle nests (including the one where a bear was spotted sleeping in the spring of 2006), the blue heron rookery, or maybe stop for a swim at one of the sandy beaches that are always nearby.
